Dr. S. Vittal is an internationally acclaimed Surgeon who has been acknowledged as the Father of Endocrine Surgery in India. He has been instrumental in creating the Department Of Surgical Endocrinology in Govt. General Hospital, Chennai, the first of its kind in India. His special field of interest is the treatment of disorders of thyroid gland. He has a special passion for teaching having been a teacher for both Undergraduate and Post graduate students for more than three decades. He is an Emeritus Professor of Surgical Endocrinology in The Tamilnadu Dr M G R Medical University.
