These may be the direct result of respiratory problems, due to paralysis of speech muscles or due to more complex problems of dyssynergia , spasticity and speech perceptual problems . A patient is said to be dysphasia when he has incoordination of speech and is unable to arrange his words in correct order.
He is said to be aphasic when he is unable to express himself in writing, speech or by signs and is unable to comprehend written or spoken language. There are many different forms of aphasia and each one is very distressing to the patient.
