A 50-year male patient, done check up with lab investigations - Vitamin D is 5 .09 ng/ml, Calcium 8.8, ALP 77.8  U/L. My question is this patient has vitamin D deficiency? No history of any significant bony pain or weakness. Patient is obese BMI 36 with TB spine history. Hb 13.3.

If vitamin D is so low, why calcium is within normal range and also ALP? Should this patient be treated as vitamin D deficient? What about calcium supplements? Kindly give your view.
