Team of Doctors along with some of the doctors from the Indian Origin have identified 69 drugs to fight against the novel coronavirus or Covid 19. Some of the drugs are already used to treat diabetes, Hypertension and it would be easier to use the same drugs rather building the new one as this pandemic is growing at a rapid pace all over the world. “The research was conducted on host proteins, not on viral proteins. Out of 29 Viral Proteins 26 were studied and were taken into consideration.
This research was conducted at the University of California, San Francisco. Out of 69 drugs 25 are already used in the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) approved and could be used as off label.
