Now, the Ministry of AYUSH is going to implement NEET for admission to AYUSH course at the undergraduate level from the academic session 2018-19. The main intention of this move is to have a single entrance examination so that candidates will be able to opt for MBBS, BDS or AYUSH courses on the basis of their NEET ranks. Now, the students applying for undergraduate courses in AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) systems may be required to appear for NEET. The central government had previously written to all state governments to make NEET the qualifying exam for AYUSH courses as well.
