Statins play a vital role in the prevention of cardiovascular disorders as they lower the cholesterol by inhibiting sterol pathway. The current article discusses the advantages of statins in the treatment of coronary artery disease (CAD). CAD can be broadly described as a group of disorders which are a result of atheromatous changes in the coronary artery. It is one of the most common causes of mortality in the modern world.
