Doctors at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (AIIMS) have achieved a landmark milestone in remote healthcare delivery by successfully conducting a real-time tele-robotic ultrasound examination on a patient stationed nearly 12,000 kilometres away at Maitri Research Station in Antarctica. The breakthrough represents a major technological leap, redefining how specialist diagnostic care can be delivered in some of the world’s most isolated and extreme environments.
