In order to express unity with protesting Maharashtra doctors, about 1,200 junior doctors at the country’s premier medical institute, AIIMS turned up at work in a unique way by wearing helmets. This protest is part of the nation-wide campaign – “Save the Saviours” that demands a safe working environment for all government doctors. The resident doctors continued their services in the hospital wearing helmets and when questioned, they responded by saying this was just a “precautionary measure” against attacks.

The president of resident doctor’s association at AIIMS stated that “Nobody has sympathy for resident doctors who are brutally beaten up. Instead, harsh steps are being taken against doctors and further, they are being penalised too.” Source: India Today What do you think about this unique way of protest by resident doctors?
