The Uttarakhand State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has upheld an order directing AIIMS Rishikesh to pay ₹60,000 to a man after its medical records repeatedly recorded him as HIV positive without supporting diagnostic evidence. The order was passed by President Kumkum Rani and Member CM Singh. The commission noted that the man subsequently produced medical reports from Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dehradun, both recording him as HIV negative. According to the complaint, the man fell ill on July 12, 2014 and consulted a doctor on July 15 after his condition did not improve.
