A dedicated unit for treating rape victims is the need of the hour provided that many hospitals lack a unit bestowing special facilities for them. Many of the rape victims don’t get the kind of services that they deserve. In this regard, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is all set to avail services of a distinct unit derived only for rape victims.
The proposal has been approved by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development and the latter is under the assessment of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
