Local Infiltration of skin and subcutaneous tissues, with undiluted Bupivacaine at the end of all surgeries or procedures, is a very good practice. It provides somatic analgesia upto 12-24 hours. Especially, in urgent episiotomy 5cc Lidocaine + 5cc Bupivacaine can be used.

If not urgent 15 mins before episiotomy 10cc of undiluted Bupivacaine can be used. It is also used for laparoscopic ports, drain sites etc.This is very useful and effective in giving good and safe analgesia. Share your views.
