The Measles Rubella (MR) vaccine will be launched today, in Jharkhand. This MR vaccine campaign by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Government of India is one of the biggest campaigns under the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP). The principal secretary of the state health department said until 2020, India is committed to eliminating measles as well as to control rubella and congenital measles syndrome.

It will cover around children under the age group of 9 months to less than 15 years. The vaccine will be administered in government and private school, health facilities and outreach sites.
