The Uttar Pradesh health department has decided to send 2,800 Ayurveda doctors at community and primary health care centers to meet the shortage of doctors in UP. Health department had to take this step as the state lacks 7,500 doctors. For this purpose, Ayurveda doctors chosen through the public service commission will be relocated to PHCs and CHCs and trained to prescribe at least 15 allopathy medicines.
