Experimental trial findings show that endotoxaemia induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) leads to ovarian fibrosis, follicle loss, and scarring of primordial follicles. Boric acid (BA), with its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, significantly preserved primordial follicle counts and reduced atretic follicle formation compared to the LPS-only group (p < 0.05). These results highlight BA’s potential protective role against sepsis-induced ovarian damage.
