Dermatomyositis can cause active skin disease, itch, and impaired skin-related quality of life. However, the effects of brepocitinib on these skin-specific outcomes and remission-level measures over longer treatment remain important to evaluate. This study evaluated the effects of brepocitinib on cutaneous disease activity, itch, skin-related quality of life, and remission-level outcomes in adults with dermatomyositis over 52 weeks. The VALOR trial included 241 participants with dermatomyositis and active skin and muscle disease; 187 (77.6%) were female and 54 (22.4%) were male.
Participants received once-daily brepocitinib 30 mg, 15 mg, or placebo.
