This is a very interesting post since GPs are the backbone of the medical facility and its different branches of medicine. GP is the first line where every patient whether cold or urgent is seen by GP, so it is very important that every GP has to be very well versed in every branch of medicine and then after making the proper diagnosis the patient to be referred to subsequent specialities.
As far as ophthalmology is concerned GP should refer the following patient to ophthalmologist unilateral red eye ocular injuries sudden loss of vision ophthalmia neonatorum diabetic and hypertensive patients for complete ophthalmic examination neuro-ophthalmic cases. Share your opinion.
