In India, this is a very important topic as how are the eye care facilities. In India, obviously, the eye care facilities would be directly proportional to the number of ophthalmologists. The big question is are the number of ophthalmologists sufficient to give ophthalmic facilities key is yes, in urban areas, there is a good number of not only ophthalmologists. But subspecialties, in the number of eye hospital as most of the doctors, like to practice in urban areas.
The problem is in rural areas where there is a paucity of even general doctors not to speak of a specialist. In any field of medicine, however, rural area patients have to depend upon eye camps which I feel do a great job in rating and operating poor rural patients.
