Bronchial asthma is one of the difficult to control diseases in medical arena even now. I had the experience of attending to patients at midnight in rainy days during 1978 to 1986. In spite of oral steroids and intramuscular steroids, the visits to patients were often and even within one hour of attending and at times taxing the doctor. In the era of very few hospitals when I practiced at that time, the patient not willing to get admitted, using IV aminophylline or Deriphylline and dexamethazone or betamethazone intramuscular with oral drugs it was a stupendous task to make the patient free for a week from asthmatic attack especially during winter.
