Can there be an integrated MBBS plus post graduation education in the future (6 years + 1 year Internship / residency). I understand that this could be chaotic and difficult for students at the age of 16-18 years to make a decision (which course to choose). But this is the case with engineering too (wherein the candidates have to choose the speciality). I believe the curriculum during initial 1-2 years of engineering is same for all branches. Subsequently they are exposed to the speciality course in the last 2 years.

Since many colleges now have PG courses and the number of seats being equal to the MBBS seats, this should be feasible. Perhaps this could save the time that is being spent for preparation PG entrance examination. Rules & regulations could be framed based on the needs.
