Whenever attendants bring a patient saying he/she is `SERIOUS`, they almost always expect me to start IV line immediately but I  do that only when required after initial check up & ruling out problems like severe HT, pulmonary oedema, CCF, severe anaemia etc, but sometimes it so happens, the patient develops chills/rigor on starting IV Line especially if he is febrile. Please let me know if: 1. one should start IV line only after bringing down body temp. to normal level ? 2.

one should  stop IV fluid administration when there are chills/rigor even without fever ? 3. Latest Drugs for symptomatic t/t of rigor/chills ?
