Often in a hospital setting, there are situations when a critically ill patient is on a life support and there is a disagreement between the healthcare professionals- who have tried all possible medical treatments and the patient`s family members- who are still waiting for feasible treatments options. In such scenario, can a hospital end life support for a patient when medical treatment is futile?
Although it is a legal and even more ethical question, the answer is yet unclear. Should hospitals have a right to end the life support of a patient?
