Cervical cancer is the fourth most prevalent cancer in women worldwide, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Despite being a preventable disease , cervical cancer affects nearly 600,000 women globally every year due to a lack of awareness, early screening programs, and access to healthcare. Women living with HIV (WLWH) are more susceptible to cervical cancer due to the severe weakening of the immune system against the human papillomavirus ( HPV ), which causes cervical cancer. On the occasion of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month , we bring you an informative patient education kit on the management of cervical cancer in WLWH.
