I wish to share an experience of my cousin who got admitted in private hospital near air port chennai for obstructive uropathy (ARF). He is a known diabetic and during the rounds the chief doctor told him in tamil that his kidney is out and went off.This poor guy started thinking of his wife and future and developed mental illness and they diagnosed delirium and advised psychiatrist opinion. Who is responsible for his illness?
doctor or disease? After a good counselling the patient understood that ARF is reversible and there is no medical renal disease and his HbA1C is 7%.
