Recently, it’s news that 67% of the interns of a reputed medical college in Mumbai have no idea if HIV, Hepatitis or other infections could be transmitted through blood transfusion. The shocking report was revealed after an awareness study on voluntary blood donation on 111 medical interns conducted at BYL Nair Medical college by experts.
According to the report: Only 49% knew if a female can donate blood during her menstrual cycle Only 42.4% knew about the minimum level of hemoglobin for blood donation If this is the picture of the knowledge of the future doctors, it’s really a matter of concern. Share your views!
