Gliptins are preferred over SUs in modern day Diabetes management whenever a 2nd add on therapy is demanded. On the other hand gliptins are costly 40-50 rs per tablet which puts burden on patient.
Would not it be better if we write teneligliptin, metformin combo wherever required because it comes with the price tag 4-5 times lower than its other Gliptin or SGLT-2 brothers. And the time has come when we should move to a Subscription based consulting options like 5000 yearly for multiple visits & Online opinions about diet, lifestyle, Insulin adjustments (no new prescription over phone) because a person with diabetes needs multiple consultation not limited to prescription writing only.
