A small daily dose of aspirin can reduce the occurrence of heart diseases and cancers by around 20-30%. These two diseases are the leading causes of death and disability across the world. Thus, the present article contributes towards the benefits of aspirin to reduce cardiovascular risk (CV). Recently emerged evidence have shown reduced use of aspirin because of some side effect such as stomach bleeding.
However, clinical data suggest that there is no valid evidence of any fatal consequences occurred due to stomach bleeding caused by aspirin intake. Also, aspirin intake increases the risk of stomach bleeding in about only half of the population. Daily aspirin is recommended for: A patient already had or prone to a stroke or heart attack A patient with angioplasty or stent placement A diabetic patient with hyperlipidemia An old patient with previous heart problems and smoking habit…
