Thank you all for your suggestions. Kindly advice if there is any role for PAP smear in this scenario. My 46 yr old sibling while admitted for renal colic was noted to have Hb 7. She has h/o menorrhagia Obs h/o G5P5L1. Her LCB was 13 yrs ago. Her peripheral smear showed hypochromic microcytic anemia, very low iron & ferrtin values with normal TIBC.
USG revealed bulky uterus, adenomyosis, normal ovaries. Two Gynaecologists were consulted. One after PV opinied D&C after transfusion and the other said hysterectomy without PV. As a medical specialist, I am contemplating haematinics, nutritional supplements, reassurance & allow her to reach menopause. Kindly give your valuable advice.
