A 50 year old man presented with all features of Deep Cein Thrombosis (DVT) in his right lower limb. Incidentally he also had elevated Blood Urea and Creatinine (2.68 mg/ dl) His Colour Doppler revealed DVT from leg veins to Iliac Veins on the right side with extension into Inferior Vena Cava upto the level of Right Renal Vein and into the Right Renal Vein. Unfortunately this man had an ectopic kidney on the left side which was atrophic and non functioning. This made the right kidney hypertrophy and was working well.

DVT extension into Right Renal Vein caused derangement in its renal function and caused uremia. On treatment with Low Molecular Weight Heparin (LMWH)and adequate anticoagulation the thrombus dissolved and DVT showed improvement. In the mean time gradually his Uremia settled down. He was discharged after 5 days with Serum Creatinine of 1.30 mg / dl
