Diabetic retinopathy remains one of the leading causes of vision loss in adults, adding significantly to the global burden of diabetes-related complications. Progressive microvascular damage in the retina can result in vision-threatening conditions such as macular edema, vitreous hemorrhage, and retinal detachment if left undiagnosed or untreated. For clinicians, early detection through regular screening, timely referral for ophthalmic evaluation, and optimal glycemic and blood pressure control are crucial to preventing irreversible visual impairment and improving patient outcomes. On the occasion of our 12 th Anniversary Celebration , we organized an insightful session on "Diabetic Retinopathy" by the expert ophthalmologist Dr.
