Oral cancer is the sixth most prevalent cancer globally, with India having the second-highest number of cases and accounting for about a third of the total burden. Lack of knowledge , variability in environmental exposure, and behavioral risk factors result in a wide variation in the global incidence and increases the mortality rate. Oral cancer is detected using various traditional clinical procedures, including physical and histological examinations, staining, biopsy, spectroscopic and radiographic techniques. The early detection of cancer is critical in reducing the patient’s physical, psychological, and financial loss.
