Recently a young man of 22 years came for consultation for neck pain, back pain, and lumbar area pain and in toto the whole of spine area. He has already undergone an MRI spine with the affection of cervical, dorsal and lumbar disc desiccation and nerve root compression which is not severe enough to need intervention. The patient used to carry a heavy load on the head and in our Tamil called "Semmaddu” This sort of heavy load always affect the cervical spines is my regular observation. He is a Kabaddi player and had some injuries on and off.
All these triggered the injury to various levels of discs. Since recently as per him gone to Kuwait for work in a temperature of 154 degrees F in open areas for three months. How they are managing this high temperature is a real question and no protective jackets available as per my questioning. Now the patient is so desperate, he feels no relief…
