With the inclusion of medical services under consumer protection act and some patients coming to walk in OPDs telling like we are consumers,  some mid oldies like us wonder whether we really need to treat them as consumers, thereby killing the old doctor-patient relationship. A consumer is a person who purchases goods and services for personal use, as per business practice we need to increase scope (turnover) of services so as to achieve maximum sale and maximise profits. To do this should we bury old doctor-patient relationship under cover and advise maximum possible procedures and surgeries to increase turnover.

Should we laugh over some patients walking into OPDs and telling us that I m a consumer? Give your opinion.
