According to a study published in European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, there was a statistically significant association between childhood overweight and eating out in different types of restaurants . A representative sample of 11,656 children ( 5706 boys, 5950 girls aged 6-11 years ) was used for this study. The study further revealed that eating out at snack bars showed a 21% higher risk of being overweight than those who did not eat out at snack bars .
