A young mother in New Delhi has undergone a successful bilateral hand transplant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, marking the second such procedure at the institution. The surgery was made possible after the family of a brain-dead donor consented to donate the upper limbs, enabling a complex reconstructive effort that has restored hope for functional independence. The patient had previously lost both hands in a chaff-cutting machine accident and had since been fully dependent on others for daily activities.
