Nominate: Dr Leela Joshi Inspite of many efforts from government side maternal and neonatal mortality of our nation is very high, especially from tribal and city slums. Dr.Leela Joshi ex-chief medical director, after retirement in 1996 settled at Ratlam a tribal majority district of MP. With a very clear mission to reduce maternal mortality by eradicating Anaemia, since it is, directly or indirectly a major cause of this tragedy in this section of our society.
Here collecting few retired persons of the same opinion, she formed a team by the name of Shri Seva Sansthan and till date covered more than 4 lac pregnant mothers and children by organising thousands of free health checkup and Hb raising camps bringing a demonstrable rise in Hb.
