Neeraj , what is the reason behind the increase in the number of medico-legal cases against medical practitioners in India? Lack of good leadership, Timidity of doctors, who have accepted all the laws and judicial pronouncements heaped on them leading to a situation where we as a group are now selectively held accountable. Lawyers cannot be dragged to consumer courts because despite a NCDRC decision to the contrary the Bar Associations immediately got a stay from Supreme Court in 2009 which is active to this date.
