Parkinson’s disease leads to neurodegeneration in basal ganglia and substantia nigra of the brain that results in typical symptoms like tremor, rigidity, and slowness of movement. Atypical features of parkinsonism may include early dementia and bladder dysfunction. The symptoms of the disease must be correctly assessed because early non-pathognomonic features may delay the diagnosis. The disease should be managed based on the predominant clinical symptoms. In this exclusive Docplexus KOL interview, Dr. V.
Natarajan talks about “Diagnosis and Management of Parkinson’s Disease”. Dr. V. Natarajan is an eminent neurologist from Chennai. He is also the former director and professor of Neurology at Madras Medical College.
