According to some well-informed health sources published by the local daily paper Kuwait Times, it has been speculated that Expats will not be able to seek treatment in public hospitals within less than three years . It was reported that the ministry rejected parliamentary demands and proposals to cancel a decision that was made to exempt some expats from increased health fees and the exemption would only apply to domestic helpers, children of Kuwaiti women and GCC nationals.
The sources mentioned that lawmakers have complained previously about too many lawmakers being already exempted which includes health ministry staff and others which posed a burden on the public hospitals and prevented the citizens from getting proper timely medical services.
