Every year, the last week of April is celebrated as World Immunization Week to promote the use of vaccines for protection of people against diseases. The theme this year is “Vaccines bring us closer” and urges people to unite globally and engage more with immunization to ensure their wellbeing. The emergence of vaccines in the COVID-19 pandemic has given hope to millions, to safeguard themselves against the deadly viral infection.
As doctors and healthcare professionals are the frontline warriors in this battle and in spreading awareness, they have been prioritized in the ongoing vaccination drive.
