About 4 days back I hv seen a 5yrs+ old boy with fever (of 1day duration and cough and cold and some macular rashes on the soft palate). On the 2nd day of fever the child developed a macular rash, prominent over the chest which later spread to the extremeties. Mild itchiness was there. The mouth leisons were a bit painful and mainly concentrated over the hard palate.The fever, never crossing 102, stayed for 03 days. The child has been vaccinated according to schedule. Today I came to know that the mother is 7weeks pregnant.
Child is active and ok now. What are the tests I should go for (In view of the dangers posed to the unborn child)? 1. Rubella IGM and IGG for mother or full TORCH panel? 2.Rubella IGM for the child?
