Communicating medical information well beforehand once the diagnosis is made and involving patients and/relatives or decision making is extremely important to make sure the treatment is smooth and my prevent litigation. Do you think standardized/ universal disease/ condition information for patients made easily Accessible via Internet or paper-sheets would help in the long term? For instance, if a patient comes with gastroenteritis. We would give all the information possible during a consultation, however giving an information sheet with do's and don'ts in layman terms made specifically for patients would be helpful in my opinion.
Of course, it has to be a universal one and evidence based. I also feel medial communication skills need to be taught a little more formally during medical schooling probably with OSCE's or tutorials. What do you think?
