The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has launched a Learning Resource Package (LRP) and e-learning modules aimed at strengthening Indiaβs zoonotic disease surveillance, prevention, and response framework. The resources have been developed by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in collaboration with WHO India under the National One Health Programme for Prevention and Control of Zoonoses (NOHP-PCZ). The initiative focuses on building a standardized training ecosystem for professionals involved in detecting, monitoring, and responding to zoonotic disease threats.
The Learning Resource Package covers ten priority zoonotic diseases, including Anthrax, Brucellosis, Kyasanur Forest Disease, Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever, Nipah, Mpox, Rabies, Leptospirosis, Scrub Typhus, and Zika.
