In the 2024-2025 budget, the Finance Ministry has allocated Rs. 90,958.63 crore to the Health Ministry, a nearly 13% increase from the previous budget. From this allocation, the Department of Health and Family Welfare will receive Rs. 87,656.90 crore, and the Department of Health Research will receive Rs. 3,301.73 crore. The Finance Ministry has also announced Customs Duty exemptions for three cancer drugs β trastuzumab deruxtecan , osimertinib, and durvalumab.
Additionally, the Ministry has suggested reducing the Basic Customs Duty for X-ray tubes and flat panel detectors.
