A 52-year-old man who had suffered a heart attack was treated swiftly with clot-busting thrombolysis procedure at his doorstep by a team of skilled and efficient paramedics under the 'Mission Delhi' initiative. “Mission DELHI” (Delhi Emergency Life Heart-Attack Initiative) is a major initiative taken by ICMR and AIIMS and is India’s first project to provide treatment to people who suffer from a sudden heart attack, even before they receive medical attention. This initiative has institutional support from The Cardiology and Emergency Medicine departments of AIIMS and receives funding from the ICMR.
