According to the Zonal Transplant Coordination Committee (ZTCC), Pune city has registered 56 organ donations in 2017, while the number of recipients outnumbers the organ donations. In 2016, the city was ranked number one in the state with 58 donations while in 2017 it is ranked second with 56 organ donations. There are around 780 people on the waiting list for a kidney, 280 for a liver transplant, 13 for the heart , and 30 for kidney + pancreas.
