In a significant move aimed at strengthening cancer care in the country, the Centre has released India’s first nationally developed, evidence-based guidelines for the treatment and palliation of lung cancer. Union health minister unveiled the document, titled Lung Cancer Treatment and Palliation: Evidence-Based Guidelines, on the eve of World Cancer Day, underscoring the government’s focus on improving cancer outcomes through standardised clinical practices. The guidelines present 15 evidence-based recommendations that comprehensively cover lung cancer diagnosis, treatment pathways, and palliative care.
