Senior doctors of Indian origin working in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS) have expressed serious concern over the changing landscape for Indian healthcare professionals, noting that the UK is no longer viewed as a stable long-term destination. The doctors said the decision of many Indians to leave the UK is not driven by dissatisfaction with medical practice, but by growing financial strain, restrictive immigration policies, and limited career security. They cited Indian government data presented during the Winter Session of Parliament, which revealed a steep fall of about 67 per cent in Health and Care Worker visas issued to Indian nationals.
