Recently met some medical college students who wanted to interview me because they were doing a documentary on surrogacy. I was quite disappointed by how little homework they had done about surrogacy . They felt that talking to IVF experts would give them the knowledge they needed. They hadn't done any background research at all, which was very disappointing. This explains why Indian medical students lag behind so much as compared to their foreign counterparts, and why so many of them want to go to the US and the UK for further studies.

All their teachers teach them is how to pass exams, and cram for the tests. If it's in the syllabus, they will study it, but they are clueless about anything happening outside their classroom.
