This is to make Medical services at par and on the pattern of IAS. Before we discuss it, let us learn about the IAS. This services followed the Indian Civil service during British rule to provide continuity and stability to administration in changing political scenario. Members of IAS are recruited through a highly competitive examination conducted by UPSC. Those selected then undergo two years of training in various subjects including a year long exposure to various level of adminstration.
For the next 8 years they are posted as Subdivision officers, District magistrates and collectors and project directors of social welfare schemes like tribal development.
