Every year 1 st of Octobe r is observed as United Nation’s International Old Person’s Day , aiming to take cognizance of the significant growth of this population segment of the elderly (60 years and above). While the day gives us an opportunity to celebrate older persons, their achievements, and their contribution to society, it is also an opportunity to bring awareness of age-related issues so that we can provide them with the quality of life they deserve. It is estimated that by 2050, the global aged population is expected to reach nearly 2.1 billion.
